SD College Library


About College Library
The college has a state-of-the-art library, equipped with most modern facilities. It has a seating capacity of 300 readers. The library has an open shelf system for both post graduate as well as under graduate students. Photostat and lamination services are also available for students and teachers.
Keeping in mind the importance of computers in day to day life, all sections of the library have been linked through computer networking. The library has a fully equipped Audio Visual Room and students have free access to internet facility. This year 1250 books worth Rs 2.5 lakhs have been added raising the total number to 49,650. the Library is subscribing 41 National & International research Journals, 54 Magazines & Periodicals and 25 Newspapers covering various fields including General Knowledge, Sports, Finance, Computers, IT, Competition & Career, etc. for the overall development of the students.
The digital section has around 800 CDs/ DVDs and Video Cassettes.
The college library is fully equipped to give practical training to the students of library science courses. This year two students of library science are undergoing practical training of one year. Book Bank facility is extended to needy & meritorious students and at present 220 students are being benefited through it. This year three new Computer systems have been added to the library to enhance the infrastructure of the Library. The Library has access to e-resources provided by UGC-INFLIBNET through N-LIST programs. Complete details of the resources are available at http://nlist.inflibnet.ac.in/
This year a number of books for preparation of various competitive exams like Civil Services, Banking, Railways, UGC/NET/SLET etc have also been added. Purchase of a new world-class library software to upgrade Library Automation and services is under process. The Library has a good collection of reference books donated by Sh. J.P. Mishra,London.Out of whichfew books are laying with Aligarh Muslim University.
Xeroxing and Lamination facilities are also available.
The college has OPEN SHELF System .
Value -added Library Facilities
a. An open-shelf system introduced for the students has been greatly appreciated and as a result the number of books issued has increased considerably.
b. Automation of the library has already been done with the 'LIBSYS' software.
c. Photostat and Lamination facility has been introduced.
d. College has a book bank for the poor and needy students. More than 135 students being benefited by it.
e. Meritorious students are issued extra books from the Library.
f. A Digital Library with 800 CD’s on different topics has been set up in the main Library
